The West of England Labrador Retriever Club was founded in 1966.
It exists primarily to serve  five counties of the West Country. These are South Gloucs Somerset, Cornwall, Devon, and Dorset. Although membership from all parts of the
UK are welcome
.

Advice and help is always given freely to anyone wishing to learn more about our breed. Advice is also given with regards to buying a puppy, breeding your bitch, and finding a suitable .Stud dog. There is a list of suitable stud dogs, all of which are hip scored and hold current eye certs, available from the Secretary on request. Other matters regarding Labrador ownership can be dealt with by telephone, letter or e.mail.

Information on inherited disease examination schemes, (Hip scoring and eye testing,) general Labrador ownership and welfare are given freely from various
representatives of the club. There is a good up to date  Puppy register run by the club, for those seeking a puppy, these are puppies bred by members, and are thoroughly vetted.  Any information and  personal help or advice needed regarding Labrador  matters can be sort from club member. The club holds two Open Breed Shows a year and one Championship show
Where both members and non- members are welcome to enter. Up to five
Field Trials (Novice and Open Stakes)  are organized  a year. In edition to this

All applicants  for membership need to be proposed and seconded by existing members
